In 1978, Detonics broke into the market with a compact 1911 type pistol, now known as the Combat Master. Six years later, Colt followed suit and popular demand with their Officer’s ACP in 1985. The same year, Springfield Armory began its production of 1911 Government Pistols, good guns at a good price; but Springfield has only recently joined the compact 1911 contest. Photos show the first .45 GI Micro we received. It continues the GI type tradition, with faithful replication of the best elements of World War II durable Parkerized armory finish. All of Springfield Armory's G.I. Models, the company explains, are built with a forged frame, slide and barrel and include low profile military sights, standard magazine well and spur hammer, standard ejection port, arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop, vertical rear slide serrations, hardwood U.S. grips and titanium firing pin. Note the modified Detonics type guide rod assembly; this not only ensures accuracy, it ensures unfailing performance in this compact powerhouse. Package includes one magazine, belt holster and cable lock. Other specs are Single Action Only pistol, caliber .45 ACP, 3 1/2 inch barrel, 6 + 1 Magazine included, total of one magazine only; Thumb Safety, Grip Safety, firing pin block safety, and internal mainspring lock with two keys; Double Diamond Brazilian Walnut grips; low profile military sights; weight 32 1/8 ounces empty. These pistols will handle any Colt type magazine, all the way from the 6 shot Officer’s ACP size up to the higher capacity extended magazines. As the photos show, it comes with molded holster and double magazine case, 11 Gear Package. Manufacturer’s marking on the right side of the slide reads S.I. Geneseo IL USA / Made in Brazil – Imbel. This specimen comes to us from one of our veteran Florida Law Enforcement friends. From our knowledge of the exclusive owner, it has been fired fewer than 100 rounds. Its only surface detractions are faint amounts of operation / slide contact on the barrel’s chamber area, muzzle area, and on the face of the hammer. There is a very faint amount of weakness to the finish on the forward left side of the slide, but this may be original to the pistol to begin with. We classify it as Excellent, since no more than 5 percent of its surfaces are affected by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is in its original box with all its papers, and even has an extra 6 round magazine. We're offering the Springfield Armory .45 GI Micro Parkerized pistol, factory number PW9801LP, in the photo for only $529.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, the District of Columbia, or Massachusetts.
