This is a High Standard Model HD Pistol that was purchased by U. S. Government during WWII. It was made for a training pistol that was similar to the 1911 Colt 45. It is chambered for 22 long rifle. All markings are clear. Property of USA on top of barrel and on side with ordnance crossed cannons. It has a little wear on the end of the barrel. Otherwise, it is as good as they get. Serial No. 119537. I think there were 44,000 made during the war. Saw one go for $1560.00 on Auction Arms. this one is just as nice will entertain offers DONT KNOW IF im right about price but would take advice on it
