The stock and forend are durable, weather resistant, recoil absorbing graphite based black polymer with checkered grip surfaces, as the photos show. The buttstock even has a detachable hard rubber Monte Carlo comb and a 3/4 inch thick magnum grade recoil pad. This is not a youth length rifle; length of pull measures 13 5/8 inches from the trigger face to the end of the recoil pad. Factory specs are as follows: Taurus catalog number R308MBS; caliber .308 Winchester; break-open single shot action; single stage trigger; transfer bar and manual lever safeties with cable lock; 23 inch barrel; Weaver base with filler screws furnished if anyone wants to go it with the Fiber Optic Sights only; overall length 38 1/2 inches; weight empty 6 1/4 pounds. This rifle comes with a factory blue steel, two-screw hammer extension for scope mounting. The red dot front, dual green dot rear fiber optic sights are high enough to clear many of the Weaver see-through scope rings.
