The grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips but lots of wear from use, they appear to be original to the gun (see photos). The metal finish is Nickel with a few spots of flaking and lots of honest wear for a 100+ year old gun (see photos) All numbers match. At the sale the only other information about the gun was that it had belonged to a family friend and that it had been in the family for a long time. This pistol has a decent bore (I have not cleaned this gun) and appears to be in perfect working condition. The Colt letter was requested in 1991 (see photos). The beaded holster has a collection tag with it that says it is Sioux however I am not a artifact collector nor am I very knowledgeable about Indian artifacts. I have looked very closely at this item and it appears old and original to my untrained eye. The only infromation I could get from the estate was the infromation on the collection tag (see photos).
