The stock does not touch the barrel adding to the performance (barrel tuning) increasing the accuracy even further. There are many fine touches to this rifle including the full trigger job which has the appropriate parts so its light and not 5 pounds. There was additional custom work with the chamber, action and stock to make things even smoother. The bedding of the stock took a while so it would be perfect. I understood it took more than a few weeks of work just for that. Outdoor has a contact at Kreiger who custom cut the muzzle and barrel for that matter to the specs we discussed. There was more than one outdoor-specialties armorer constructing this rifle and all of the test firing was done at 800 to 900 meters in VA where someone fine tuned the scope and zeroed the rifle even though I could have zeroed it myself. They were pretty interested in getting the chance to fire it briefly before it was shipped out. Also, the action and barrel are both stainless steel.
