For sale we are offering a preowned Springfield Armory M1 Garand NATIONAL MATCH chambered in 30-06 caliber. This is a fantastic rifle in Very Good collectible condition. Serial number is 2768***. This appears to be a Type II with glass bedded stock.
I will do my best to describe this gun, however I am not expert so PLEASE look at all photographs. Barrel date reads 1963.
This rifle appears to have been refinished. The 24” barrel is very nice and has the “NM” mark on the left side near the muzzle. Barrel is also marked “SA 7791035”. Receiver is in similar condition with signs of wear; Seemingly refinished. The bolt is the only other part on this gun marked “NM”, everything else is marked “SA” for Springfield Armory. The stock also appears refinished but retains original cartouche on the left side as well as the “P” on the bottom of the grip. There has been a crack on the top side where the stock meets the receiver; Crack has been repaired. Original metal butt plate with storage door. I am not sure if the front sight is a period sight or later replacement.
Please look at photographs of trigger grouping, etc. I have field stripped this rifle and photographed all that I could.
