Wonderful WWII era Colt M1911 in .45 ACP made in 1942 according to the serial number, C220934. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block address/patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center, the right side of the slide is marked “COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45” followed by the Rampant Colt and the left side of the frame is marked with “GOVERNMENT MODEL” over the “C” prefix serial number. The left front upper trigger guard is marked “VP” and “R” and “49” on the opposite. Standard low profile fixed sights, matte finish on top of the slide, unmarked blue magazine and fitted with stag grips. Complete with the original box numbered to the gun with bore brush, manual and a War Department Basic Field Manual.
Excellent with 99% finish remaining showing some minor high edge wear, a few light scratches and minor handling marks, and a small metal gouge on top edge of barrel bushing. The grips are excellent. The slide markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with broken corners on the lid, a small piece missing, some peeling and flaking of the outer paper cover and some corner wear.
