For one thing, its grip frame contour, balance, and sight radius are almost identical to a 1911 Colt Government Model, so all the pot-metal 1911 .22s are cosmetic nothings; this is the original workhorse, hence its named model designation 22/45. Ruger has shortened its famous classic 5 1/2 Bull Barrel, incredibly durable upper receiver to its good-feeling, economical 22/45 composite frame for a winning combination. Weight empty is about 31 oz, a half pound shy of a steel frame Government Model. sights are both windage and elevation adjustable, and capacity is 10 shots plus one. This pistol comes with a total of two factory Ruger Magazines, and the magazine release is positioned exactly like a 1911, on the left hand side of the trigger guard to frame junction, favoring the Right Handed Shooter. It is equipped with Ruger’s inconspicuous internal lock. This particular specimen comes from its exclusive retail owner, one of our Missouri neighbors, and it is in near mint condition in a mismatched box, just like he got it from his dealer, who misplaced its original box. It has all its papers, and correctly numbered fired brass envelope, dated from September of 2010. If it has been fired at all, it has been fired fewer than 100 times. We do not detect any surface detractions, and operation buffing on the bolt surface is no more pronounced than on its brand new mates we’ve sold recently.
