In the world of Parker shotguns a DHE 12ga is not "rare", as they made over 6000 of them with fluid steel barrels. However, when you examine features on this fine Parker, sn217508 made in 1926, we can begin to see the rarities that make this a remarkable, desirable Parker. Only 1178 DHE 12ga. guns were made with 32" barrels. Now we can say it is "scarce". Of the 242,000 or so Parkers made, only 500 had a ventilated rib, so now we are in the "rare" category. Add in the factory Monte Carlo stock and we have found a truly unique Parker. In fact, the authors of the "Parker Story" mention the rarity of the Monte Carlo on page 300 of their tomes. For those shooting sporting clays or trap with vintage guns this is THE gun for the sport. A Monte Carlo stock does not deliver recoil to your face as a field style stock does, greatly reducing felt recoil and delivering it to the shoulder over a wide area. The same goes for heavy loads in the field for ducks, pheasants, turkey and the like. When sighting down the vent rib the barrels are not in your sight plane, the 32" barrels keeps you swinging, and at 8 1/4lbs. there is little felt recoil. The restored factory wood is spectacular and the gun is a "real looker" to boot. Again, a rare configuration and desirable features means the value of this gun will continue to go up as you enjoy its use.

The 32" Titanic Steel Vent Rib barrels retain 99% rust blue, mirror bores, double ivory beads, clear, sharp engraved lettering on the rib, 2 5/8" chambers (MADE FOR 2 3/4" SHELLS! PARKER PURPOSELY SHORT CHAMBERED THEIR GUNS. ASK FOR DETAILS.), bore diameter .730/.731, minimum wall thickness 33 thou right, 36 thou left, tight ribs, no dents or dings, ejectors strong and timed, barrels tight on breach face and hinge, just a beautiful set of barrels.

The 1 1/2 frame action retains traces of case color, excellent sharp engraving of the finest Parker produced, excellent screws, action tight with lever centered, crisp single selective trigger in the mid-position, trigger guard silver, all in perfect mechanical condition.

The Monte Carlo stock and splinter forend has been restored to new with perfect Parker checkering, fine oil finish, Silvers pad (all Monte Carlo stocks came with pads), no splits or cracks, 14 3/16" LOP from a mid-position trigger (equates to about 14 5/8" if it were a two trigger gun and as it left the factory), 1 7/16" drop at heel, 1 3/8" drop at comb, neutral cast, excellent wood to metal fit, fantastic feather crotch walnut, a real treat to the eye. With the gorgeous wood, long vent rib barrels, and deep chiseled engraving this Parker is gorgeous! Made specifically for rising birds.

Considering this gun as a tool for your shooting needs it is hard to find a better clay target gun. I have shot trap with this gun and it is decidedly different in the way it pushes you as you pull the trigger. The birds float just above the bead and turn to dust if you do your part. The vintage clay target sports are growing nationwide and demand for guns like this fine Parker is accelerating. It used to be short-barreled Parkers that demanded the premium, but no longer. Heavy, long barreled, vent ribbed, high stocked guns sell quickly in today's world making this a great gun for your enjoyment and a great investment vehicle as well.
