Description: Here one of the last, best, and scarcest of the Walther PPK/S variants, the Two Tone version with stainless slide and blued steel frame. Correct Product code is VAH38007; this Walther, however, is marked V6H38007. The 6 indicates Smith & Wesson demo status. It is probably a showgirl, one of S&W’s samples on display at a trade show, perhaps the SHOT show in Las Vegas. Smith & Wesson markings consist of the Houlton Maine stamping on the right side of the slide, and the First Engineering Change -1 suffix on the right side of the frame beside the trigger. This specimen will be one of the last so marked, since Walther and Smith & Wesson are parting ways after a successful dozen years of joint efforts. This PPK/S-1 is in its original box with both factory magazines; interestingly, it came with a set of Pachmayr Signature PP Grips installed. From its 5000 range, BAM suffix serial number, it was likely manufactured in 2010. Apart from slide to barrel contact, we do not detect any surface detractions at all, so we classify this PPK/S as Near Mint in Box, and photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to concur or dissent. As far as the basic pistol, we cannot tell any difference in quality between it and its Interarms ancestors. Here is what the factory says about the PPK/S: Developed in 1931, the Walther PPK continues to thrill the shooting public and the legend lives on. The PPK-S, with a longer frame for one additional cartridge, and the PPK are now both produced in the USA. Features of the PPK and PPK-S include a firing pin safety, manual safety with decocking function, double action and single action trigger and extended beaver tail grip frame strut. Type is traditional double- and single-action semi-auto, long smooth double action pull on the first shot from a resting hammer position, and then, a crisp 5 pound vicinity single action trigger pull with minimal felt creep on subsequent shots until the shooter chooses to end the firing session by engaging the main safety which decocks the pistol. Caliber is .380 ACP. Grips are classic glossy checkered black synthetic with Walther banner; construction is stainless steel upper – slide, hammer and barrel; with blued steel frame and trigger. Sights are red dot front and contrast red bar fixed rear; capacity is 7+1 rounds of .380 ACP caliber ammunition. Weight empty is a light 22/4 ounces. This fine pistol is every bit as good, or even better, than any of the Interarms Walthers, since it will digest sharp nosed hollow point ammunition like the Federal Hydra-Shok. It is a testament, as well, to the mechanical expertise of the Smith & Wesson factory workers in Houlton, Maine, who also brought us the 422/622 series of pistols. Replacement price on this pistol in our area is upwards of $800.00, if a person can even find one. We're offering the rare two tone PPK/S-1 in the photos, however, for only $ 639.00. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
