Accepted Payment Methods: Returns: See Description This Seller Accepts Instant Online Payments Description: The FR-8 rifle was developed in the 1950s by Spain during their transition from military bolt action rifles to a new, select-fire Cetme Mod. 58 assault rifle, chambered for new 7.62x51 NATO ammunition. The FR-8 rifles were converted from Spanish Model 1943 rifles, which are based on the Model 1898 Mauser action, also known as "Large ring" Mauser action. Conversions included new barrels, inserted spacers in magazines (to accommodate shorter rounds), shortened Forend and new iron sights. The FR-8 rifles were issued to Guarda Civil units and also used for military training, as their sighting arrangements and ballistics were intentionally made similar to that of the Cetme assault rifle. These rifles were used in Spain until about 1980 The FR-8 is a nice handling, compact package, measuring just 38 1/2" overall and weighing 7 1/2 pounds. The receiver is dated 1957, serial numbers match, the metal has 98% + finish, the bore and stock are in very good to excellent condition . Import marked CAI The rifle comes with an original Spanish bayonet and scabbard in unissue condition, an original Spanish sling that is in unissue condition and in the original package, two dozen FR8 stripper clips and CETME (HK 91) cleaning kit C&R eligible (This is a surplus firearm and it is recomended that a competent gunsmith inspects rifle before firing.)
