From the parent revolver’s D74000 range serial number, this barrel assembly left the Iver Johnson Factory in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1901. The old revolver itself, our number HG6825, was in only fair condition at best, and that holds true for this assembly, as the photos show. This is an original, 111 Year Old factory Iver Johnson Barrel Assembly with its front sight and rear sight assembly that locks the barrel and cylinder into place on the frame. Note that it does not have the rotor that operates the cylinder ejector. Otherwise, it is mechanically sound. Bore shows about 25 percent light internal pitting, and about the same externally. We rate it as fair condition finishwise but good mechanically; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. We are certain that this assembly will fit most any .38 caliber Iver Johnson Safety Hammerless Second Model revolver, with serial number range of D100000 or lower; but we doubt it will fit anything else. The Safety Hammerless serial numbers are usually on the left side of the grip frame underneath the grips.
