Pachmayr Springfield 2 BBL Set Takedown. 30-06/ .257 Roberts. This is a Frank Pachmayr built rifle, donated to the North American Wild Sheep Foundation. This is noted on a plaque located on the grip cap and references both Nan and Frank. This rifle works on the principle that when taken down, the entire forward portion of the rifle comes apart, fore end and all. The wood matches very well on both barrels to the butt stock. The action on this rifle is very clean with very strong blue and clear Springfield markings. All of the furniture on this rifle is in 95% condition and the point of takedown is tight on both sets of barrels. The barrels both have a fixed rear with a square notch and a sourdough front with a hood. Both bores are perfect and I don't think this rifle has been shot more than a handful of times. The stock is very nice with a cheek-piece and the distinctive Pachmayr long point chequering. The lop is 13 1/2" and the rifle weighs 7lbs 7oz with both barrels. These rifles are so well built, with balance and function, that they stand the test of time and seem very current even today... 35553309 $6100.00
