This is not a comfortable shooting weapon, even if someone is doing varmint control with Super Light 2 3/4 inch shells, but a powerful one. For a good balance between firepower and felt recoil, a 12 gauge 3 inch Magnum load with 1 1/4 oz. BB Steel Shot delivers 90 Pellets at 1400 feet per second from the muzzle and that figures the rough equivalent of 2 boxes of .17 Mach II bullets all in one shot. Consumers must be at least 21 years of age to own one of these, any shotgun with a pistol grip has Federal Status as a hand gun for age and residency purposes. This is Mossberg's Cruiser Grip shotgun, the Persuader Series JIC Cruiser 12 gauge pistol grip variant of the tried-and-true Model 500 slide action with tang safety, easily employed by Left Handed Shooters. This variant comes in its factory black nylon case. Factory number is 55340. Manufacturer is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, double slide bars, bolt, internal parts and trigger built into an alloy receiver. Forend, pistol grip, safety button, trigger group housing, and added on Masen heat shield are high impact polymer. Caliber chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Barrel is 18 1/2 inch Cylinder Bore, .725 vicinity muzzle diameter, with traditional hex base brass bead front sight. Magazine holds 5 rounds of 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4 rounds of 3 inchers, so fully loaded capacity on 2 3/4 inch is 5 + 1. Forend is conventional serrated corn cob type, with finger grooved combat pistol grip. Overall length is 28 3/4 inches. Weight empty is 5 3/4 pounds, with center of gravity at the forend. Finish is non glare matte blue steel and matching matte anodized receiver. . This specimen comes to us direct from one of our dealer friends in Kentucky. It was never loaded, fired, or transferred, in its original box with case, lock, and instruction manual that includes factory warranty statement. The only surface detractions we see, is a faint amount of streaking on the barrel surface from contact with the pistol grip during shipment, and that is probably going to be the case with every single specimen that Mossberg ships. We rate it as Excellent and unfired in Box, 95 percent by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselvers.
