Here is the only true pocket handgun in the world, a product of the great Dick Casull’s genius and ongoing Utahn manufacturing excellence. This is the North American Arms WASP variant of its Mini Revolver series, numbered model simply NAA22MGTW. It is a Matte Stainless Five Shot Single Action revolver made on the order of the early Smith & Wesson Ladysmiths. Manufacturer and warrantor is North American Arms of Provo, Utah. Construction is entirely stainless steel metal, with stippled surface rubber grip panels. Type is single action only revolver with conventional integral hammer nose firing pin and half cock position. Chambering is .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle; and .22 Winchester Magnum calibers interchangeably with 5 round cylinder capacity. Cylinder is roll out detent pull pin, the cylinder detaches and ejection is achieved with the cylinder pin. Barrel is 1 5/8 inch 8 groove with 1/12 right hand twist. Bore is .224 instead of the more common .222, in order to accommodate the larger Magnum bullet. This will compromise some accuracy with .22 LR ammunition, and yes, the North American is an accurate enough revolver. Sight is staked on half moon blade type front with frame integral fixed notch rear. Overall length is 5 1/8 inches; heigh measures 2 7/8 inches from the grip frame butt to the top of the hammer spur; and cylinder thickness is .85 inch. Weight is 6 1/8 oz. empty, with center of gravity at the rear cylinder face. Finish is brushed stainless cylinder and frame laterals with matte stainless 3 post ventilated rib barrel and verticals; note the cylinder markings in a Wasp Stripe motif. This revolver comes to us from its exclusive police sergeant owner in Alaska. It is in its original box with its padlock, protective materials, instruction manual, NRA card, warning card, and a never executed factory registration card. It also includes a Shannon leather pocket holster with ammunition pouch. Surface dtractions are minimal, principally cylinder rotation marking and faint amounts of contact buffing. We rate it as Very Good, perhaps even Excellent, 85 to 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 300 times, no rounds at all for a North American. Replacement pricing on this WASP Variant in our area is over $300, and they aren’t common. Most any leather holster is $50 or more.
