Up for sale is this very unusual Percussion Musket. This is a very interesting firearm, not only is it very old, but with a great story and history. The current owner purchased the musket and had it several years then by accident they found a rolled up piece of paper inside the musket. The paper is in French and has the seal of Maximillian. When they had the French translated, it said it belonged to a soldier in Maximillian's Army. Although the seal and some of the writing is still visible, the owners framed it and hung it next to the musket where it eventually faded from sunlight.

The only mark on the rifle is 1861 stamped on the metal above the trigger. There are 9 silver bands around the barrel and 1 copper band at the base of the barrel. There is silver inlay in the stock, and the rifle shows alot of patina. When the current owner originally purchased the musket, there were ivory medallions inset in the butt of the musket but it was stollen and when the found it, the ivory medallions were missing. When the musket was stolen, it was missing for several years, then they happened to be in a shop and the musket was hanging on the back wall. The person then in possission of the musket said he had bought it from a pawn shop. The musket was returned to the current owners and now is being offered for sale. The document with the seal is included with the musket.

California residents must also pay 8.75% sales tax. Payment must be received within 7 days. Item will be shipped with in 1-5 days if paid by credit card and 5 - 10 days for other forms of payment.
