TEC-9 VS TEC-DC9......A lot of people get confused as to what the difference is between a Tec-9 & a Tec-DC9.The only difference is the insertion of DC in the name & the Tec-DC9 has a removable metal clip on the rear of the receiver vs two fixed sling rings on the side of the Tec-9(I'm of the opinion that the DC9's clip is superior as it allows for better positioning & carry of a gun designed like the Tec-9(which is a large pistol).Intratec made these changes in response to a ban on "named guns" after the Stockton schoolyard shooting of 1989.By simply changing the name(adding the DC)and the minor alteration of the sling rings,Intratec was able create a "new" gun to "comply"(some say circumvent)with the ban.
