SCCY industries was begun about 15 years ago by former employees of Kel-Tec, but the only lawsuit we’ve heard of them having is with a Vodka Company. Similarities to the Kel-Tec P11 are obvious from the photos, just like the Ruger LC9. The SCCY CPX1, writes the factory, is a great conceal carry gun for the money. It features a barrel machined from bar stock with 7 lands and grooves having a 16-1 right hand twist, 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum receiver machined from bar stock, the grip and frame are made from Zytel polymer with ergonomic finger grooves and an integral Recoil Cushion. It is a double action only with internal hammer with inertial firing pin. The CPX1 does has an ambidextrous manual lever safety, and a 9 pound trigger pull. Included with the CPX1 you get two (2) double stack,10 round magazines with finger extension base installed and 2 flat magazine bases included. As far as other specs, type is locked breech semi-auto pistol. Manufacturer is SCCY Industries of Daytona Beach, Florida. Barrel is 3.1 inches; height is 4 inches; overall length from muzzle to grip frame strut is 5.7 inches; 1 inch width; and weight of 15 ounces empty, with center of gravity at the breech face. Sights are 3 dot configuration, stake on polymer front with dovetailed steel rear. This pistol is double action only, every shot involves a long smooth double action pull and the hammer will not stand in cocked position. The Sccy does Not have a magazine safety; that is, it will fire single shot with no magazine. Caliber, of course, is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, call it what you will, THE 9mm. Magazines are smooth finished matte blue steel. Unlike competitor Kel-Tec, the SCCY will Not accept Smith & Wesson 5900 / 6900 Magazines. SCCY magazine interchangeability, as far as we can tell, is confined to the Taurus PT111 flat plate magazines. Note the stainless slide and steel guide rod. Each Sccy CPX1 comes in its foam filled cardboard box with gun lock instruction manual, transferable factory lifetime warranty statement, and fired brass envelope. Replacement pricing on the nearest Kel-Tec P11 variant is over $300 in our area, and the P11 only comes with one magazine. The Ruger LC 9mm with lever safety goes for $400 vicinity, but it does not come in stainless or double stacked magazine.
