Photo specimen is a descendant of a line of single action .22 revolvers that began production first in Germany and Europe shortly after World War II with names like simply Germany, then Herter’s, then Rohm, and the most influential Armi Tangfolio of Italy. Thousands of these cheap but decent quality single action .22s were imported before the parent company, Colt, followed suit with the Peacemaker .22, New Frontier .22, and the just-as-cheaply-made Colt Scouts of the 1960s. This specimen is the Rough Rider, manufactured of U.S. and Italian parts, some steel and some pot metal, in Opa Locka, Florida, the descendant company of Eig Cutlery, then F.I.E. and Excam. Many predecessors were manufactured as the E15 or TA-76, or simply the Buffalo Scout. These revolvers are very simply made, and parts are plentiful. This one comes to us from a local collection in Madison County, Tennessee; it is in Very Good Condition finishwise as the photos show, about 80 percent by our estimate. It is in its original box, it has a frame safety, and it has very attractive exotically grained hardwood grips. Note that there is a swell in the barrel, not at all conspicuous, about 2 inches back of the muzzle. We’re offering it for only $ 109.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, D.C., Massachusetts, or New York City. We will not accept returns on this type gun. This is a cheap, pot-metal gun; people who want a good cheap gun should buy a new or used Rossi or Taurus Revolver. We make two guarantees on this kind, 1. We warrant title because we are not going to take it back, if you buy it, then, we guarantee it’s yours; and 2. as our late proprietor emeritus said, we guarantee it NOT to shoot.
