This pistol for sale is a Remington Model 51 semiautomatic. The model 51 was made by Remington/UMC,in Ilion, New York from 1918 unitll 1927. Total production was just over 64,750 pistols. This model 51, "PA 1595" was shipped from Remington's Ilion, Newy York plant in 1919. It was one if 22,966 pistols shipped that year. The first serial number shipped that year was Pa 27 while the last was Pa 22991. So you can see this one was shipped aquite early in the year 1919. The Model 51 was offered in two caliblers: 380(which this one is chambered in) and .32, with the .380's outnumbering the .32's by about 5 to 1. The "PA" preceding the serial number stands for "Pedersen's Automatic" and honors the guns's deigner, John D. Perdersen. The pisol functions and fires flawlessly. It has some minor dings and scratches. With a little TLC and reblueing it could look like new. Don't pass up a rare opportunity on a rare pistol. Thanks for looking.
