Armscor of the Philippines launched its business the same year that our proprietor personally laid the blocks for our building, 1952; but it was a little over a decade before we began carrying their products. Since the earliest Armscor .22 rifles, to their long produced .22 Magnum ammo marketed by Fiocchi, we have had positive experience with Armscor products, and that is especially true with their Rock Island Armory series of Government 1911 style pistols. This offering shows the first of their FS Tactical 1911A1s, that we received, and it is a solid, slick pistol throughout. Barrel is match grade 5 inch with heavy duty recoil spring and full length guide rod. Magazine furnished is a Novak steel body 8 rounder, and any 1911 style magazine will fit. Custom grade equipment includes Beavertail Grip Safety, Skeleton Commander style hammer, serrated metal skeleton trigger, extended serrated magazine release, extended ambidextrous main safety; Novak style rear and square edged front sights; widened and beveled ejector port. Trigger on the photo specimen was a reasonably crisp 5 pounds with minimal travel. Grips are nicely grained Filipino hardwood. Weight is 40 ounces empty. Sights are low profile conventional drift rear and stake-on front. In our experience, these are every bit as good as their pricier Brazilian Made Competitors.
