This gun was ordered for and by R. Doughty - the owner of Doubles & Dogs Fine Shotguns and Sporting Accessories who was a "Preferred" US importer for AyA, Grulla and Arrizabalaga shotguns. Unfortunately Doubles & Dogs closed operations on 12/31/2012. As indicated above, this special shotgun was ordered as an example of the FINEST AyA No. 2 available and comes complete with photographs taken by AyA in Spain of various stages of its creation process documenting even the unfinished wood blank used. This shotgun is brand new in EVERY aspect and has not been fired and only occasionally handled. The ONLY defect with this gun is the custom embellishment of "made for R.D.Doughty" on the barrel flats. With the work being gold wire inlaid, it can be remedied to nearly invisible by having a skilled engraver remove the gold wire and refilling with a ferrous metal that will take hot or cold bluing. The result would be nearly undetectable if done properly. The DEALER cost (documentation available) of this shotgun with the listed upgrades was $7255 - not including the $245 fee for 14k gold wire filled "made for R.D.Doughty". With nearly identical specs to an AyA No. 1 (retailing at $8,999US) this gun is being offered at an incredible value at $6500 as the final piece in a complete inventory elimination. Please understand that this particular AyA is not a direct comparable to the standard, production run guns offered by Cabelas. It is in a different class all together in quality, fit and finish.
