This U.S. Model 1917 bolt action chamber for the 30-06 was manufactured during the period 1917-18 at the Eddystone facility and was discontinued at the end of WWI. The stock is in great shape and has been arsenal refinished. All metal work is as issued and untouched, with a bright bore. The flaming bomb is present on the receiver, bolt, & barrel. The stock has the 2 standard cartouches S.S.A.A. on the side, and the letter "P" inside of a square under the grip. A long with the rifle comes this very hard to find US M1913/17 bayonet w/leather scabbard. Made for the British in Aug 1917, but bought by the US Government. The British marks where stamped over with US logo applied.

Please note that while every collector seems smitten with the '03, it was actually the M1917 that saw more service in WWI.
