The OLIVER F. WINCHESTER COMMERATIVE RIFLE is a Model 1894 chambered for 38-55 cal. with an engraved matte gold plated receiver, lever, barrel bands, medallion in stock, 24" octagonal barrel. I purchased this weapon when I was in the Army stationed in Germany at the base gun club. I commissioned a local furniture maker to fabricate a custom one of a kind display case out a local walnut to match the stock of the rifle. The wood for the case is solid one inch thick with dovetail joints, beaded glass, brass full length piano hinge and lockset with crushed red velvet liner, absolutely beautiful.
