Here is a very nice set of Lincoln Cents from 1941 through 1976, with no S mints or any proofs included. All the cents, even the heavily toned 1943 Steel specimens, have at least strong details on Lincoln's ear. 1946-D, 1947, 1954-S, and 1955-D have moderate toning on their reverse sides. The lowest grade specimens, then, will grade Fine or Very Fine by our estimate as far as details. Almost all the Memorial Cents from 1959 on have mint luster to some extent. This set was probably assembled in the late 1970s, because its deluxe Whitman folder dates only through 1965, and the assembler, our late proprietor emeritus, artistically labeled specimens from 1966 through 1976-D, where he completed the set. All of these, then, are P,D, and S mints through 1955, when the San Francisco Mint went into its hiatus; then from 1956 through 1976 there is one specimen each of the Philadelphia and Denver pennies in the years that any were minted, and none were minted in Denver in 1965, 1966, or 1967. This is a distinctive set with excellent specimens throughout, even the steels.
