Of the thousands of SKS rifles we sold through our little store over a decade from the late 1980s to 1990s, only a handful were the detachable magazine carbines like this one. Only a few of them were imported through CBA in Virginia Beach, VA like this one. Its 93 prefix, 5-digit serial number dates it to the final pre-ban year of 1993. It has minimal scouring on its blond finished hardwood stock, but the metal finish is quite strong original blue throughout. Detractions to the metal are minimal, principally faint amounts of whitening on the sharp edges of the sight and trigger guard. We rate this SKS as Excellent, since 90 percent or more of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Barrel is 16 inch Chrome lined, 18 inches counting the added on blue steel muzzle brake; action is gas operated semi-auto, one of the most reliable in the world; magazine capacity is 30 rounds, or whatever magazine type someone can find; stock is hardwood with thin forend section and factory recoil pad. Magazine furnished is the original steel Norinco 30 round mag. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Scope base is blue steel NC Star, and the scope is 28 mm eyepiece, 40mm objective NC Star with three adjustment turrets, all rubber armored and excellent.
