From a local estate sale an unfired high grade 45 cal. Hatfield percussion Kentucky style full stock Squirrel rifle. 39" Octagon (7/16" across the flats) barrel with double set triggers, brass fittings (butt plate, trigger guard, ram rod tip, and two thimbles) and a good crisp beautifully color case hardened lock. The super fancy hand rubbed curly maple stock has no chips or cracks but there are a few light handleing marks (see photos). At the sale the heirs said the gun was bought new, has never been fired, and has always been kept in the blue bag (included with the gun). After close inspection of the lock I truly believe the gun has never been fired (see photos). A beautiful, early production, gun and nearly impossible to find in unfired condition. When my brother Ted started making these guns in the 1970's only the first few were put in the blue bags as the bags became unavailable. No Reserve.
