This is Mossberg's JIC series Mariner Cruiser, the Persuader 12 gauge pistol grip variant of the tried-and-true Model 500 slide action with tang safety, easily employed by Left Handed Shooters. Magazine capacity is 5 rounds on 2 3/4 inch, or 4 rounds on 3 inch, so 5+1 fully loaded capacity on 2 3/4 inch shells. Barrel is 18 inch smooth bore, .725 vicinity cylinder bore, with conventional hex base threaded brass bead sight. Heat shield is Masen Co. black polymer. Metal finish is attractive, weather resistant Mossberg MarineCote® electroless nickel. Weight empty is 5 pounds 12 ounces, with center of gravity at the center of the forend. Overall length is 28 3/4 inches. All 500 receivers are drilled to accept a Weaver # 88 or 417 series 4 screw optics base. This specimen is what we call a factory demo.
