Here is one of the last shotguns manufactured at 275 Winchester Ave., in New Haven, CT. From its L3640000 range serial number, it left the plant in 2004. Type is slide or pump action shotgun with rotary bolt and double steel slide bars. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, trigger, and internal parts housed in an alloy receiver with polymer trigger group housing. Barrel is 26 inch standard bore, threaded for Winchoke® tubes; and this 1300 comes to us with its original .710 muzzle Modified tube and .670 muzzle Turkey Extra Full tube. Winchoke®, Mossberg Accu-Choke®, and old style Browning Invector® will all interchange with each other, and are readily available throughout the world. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably, with a fully loaded capacity of 4 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch and 3 + 1 on 3 inch with the two shot adapter or plug removed. Sight system is an 11 post .375 wide serrated top Ventilated Rib that is .23 high at the barrel lug, and with a standard brass bead front sight. Barrel and steel parts have a non glare matte finish, and anodized receiver is matte black with sight serrations on top. Safety system favors the right handed shooter, with its button positioned in front of the .250 smooth faced trigger. Stock and forend are graphite based synthetic with checkered lateral panels and Realtree® camo finish. Buttstock length of pull is 13 3/4 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch factory recoil pad. Stock drop is standard 1 1/2 inch at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the butt, with a pronounced 1 inch right hand cant, not at all southpaw friendly. Overall length is 46 1/4 inches. Weight empty is 7 pounds 2 ounces, with center of gravity at the back of the forend. Grip cap marks it as a National Wild Turkey Federation special edition. This 1300 comes to us from its exclusive consumer owner on the North Carolina / Virginia line. Surface detractions are minimal, all we detect is a small whitened streak on the right side of the receiver. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all functional, bright, and clean. From the looks of the shell carrier and bolt, We estimate this shotgun has been fired fewer than 100 times.
