" RARE FULLY DOCUMENT 3 BULLETS FROM GENERAL, GEORGE ARMSTRONG CUSTER'S PEARL HANDEL REVOLVERS " These are the actual three live bullets that were acquired by Dr. Lawrence Frost from General Custer's pearl handle 32 caliber revolvers, when he purchased the Custer estate in 1950.. The rim fire rounds are in particularly good condition and are " LIVE". The bullets lead has oxidized to an even patina while the casings enjoy a deep rich old toning.
The 3 cartridges were secured by Dr. Frost in a small white envelope with inscriptions in his own hand writing and signature. Along with purchasing the Custer estate, Dr. Frost has written numerous books,papers, was an avid collector and graciously assisted other authors, researchers, historians and educators with General Custer Facts through out his life He was deeply committed to his association with the Monroe Michigan Museum Library where he shared his life's work.
This sale includes the following items: The three (3) original 32 caliber rimfire bullets., the original envelope by Dr. Frost in addition has John S. du Mont's signature on the envelope flap. A copy of the 2007 Heritiage Auction Galleries full color catalogue showing these exact three bullets and envelope listed for auction on page #60. Two books written by Dr. Lawrence Frost (1) General Custer's Libbie and (2) The Custer Album. In addition referring to page # 13 in The Custer Album the ORIGINAL hand engraved printing plate the produced the the top photo of CUSTER'S LAST STAND by Theodore B.
