What a masterpiece of the gun maker’s art! This fantastic 2 barreled set is the result of a collaboration of the famous engravers Angelo Bee, R. Capece, and J.H Diet who gained their fame as engravers at the FN/Browning factory in Belgium. This Model 21 started off in 1937 as a Field Grade 20ga. with 28” barrels, single selective trigger, and ejectors. It is now a sideplated gun with a second set of Winchester 28ga. barrels, 12 multi-colored gold birds inlays, and yards of fine gold wire inlays. The wood is “off the charts” Turkish walnut with superb 26 LPI checkering and tasteful, elaborate carvings placed perfectly around the borders. With the powerhouse engravers each signing this work of art, this is a one-of-a-kind, investment grade Winchester that will stir the soul of any admirer of fine custom shotguns. The fact that it is built on the famed Model 21 action and barrels makes it a working masterpiece that can be enjoyed afield or shown off at the club.

The original 20ga. barrels are 28” choked IC/M (.008/.023), with an internal bore diameter of .616 right barrel, .618 left barrel, minimum barrel wall thickness of 25 thousandths right barrel, 24 thousandths left barrel, 99% blue, gold scroll inlays at the breech, 3” chambers, tight ribs, no dents or dings, double beads, strong well timed ejectors, barrels tight on breech face and hinge. The 28ga. barrels are also 28” with mirror bores, choked F/F (.025/.025, can be altered to your specs for $50 per barrel), minimum barrel wall thickness exceeds 45 thousandths both barrels, internal bore diameter .547, 2 7/8” chambers, tight ribs, gold inlays, ejectors, just fantastic.

The receiver is a deep rich blue that really showcases the gold inlays. The photos will do the best job of describing the stunning beauty of the engraving and inlay work. The action is tight, lever centered, single selective trigger, trigger guard richly gold inlaid, excellent screws, SIDEPLATED ACTION MAKES FOR A WONDERFUL CANVAS and a very graceful, long action. “ WOW!” is an understatement.

The wood on this gun is a dark, rich, fully figured Turkish walnut with excellent wood to metal fit, drop points, very tasteful wood carvings, awesome checkering, with a fine hand rubbed oil finish, looong LOP of 15 ¼” to the end of the checkered butt, 2 ½” drop at heel, 1 ½” drop at comb (can be bent to your specs for $150-$200 within a week of purchase), two matching beavertail forends with rich gold inlaid wire decorating the forend iron. What a fantastic piece of work!

This is a shotgun that needs to be seen in person. Our photos are excellent, and you can easily see the quality of work that has gone into this gun, but it is even better in hand. There is no doubt the value of this gun will climb, as the work of Angelo Bee, Capece, and Diet is well known and very sought after. These famous engravers will only be working for a short period of time in the future, and then, as in all art, the value will climb. To own such a fine firearm and have it earn money for you is the true joy of fine firearm collecting.
