This is for a Japanese Type 99 rifle that has been sporterized. This is a 7.7 Jap caliber. The mum has been grounded but the remainder of the markings are present. See the pictures for details. The rear sight functions and slides fine. The stock appears to be walnut but not sure. The function is good and the bolt is smooth and in good shape. The bore is pretty nice and demonstrates typical wartime finish. This rifle is a shooter and should be enjoyed for it's historical value or used as parts.
