This is a brand new Model 1892, .25-20WCF, receiver made about 1910 (serial #537xxx), and probably a slightly later barrel. As parts often were in inventory for long duration later in production of earlier models, when later more popular models were available, this gun was probably assembled and shipped closer to 1915 or 1920. Nonetheless, it is a factory original rifle, and has not been altered or messed with in any way. This particular gun was found in an estate including a long closed hardware store in Utah where the rifle was located when the building was sold. It is a standard rifle, octagon barrel, crescent butt, with factory installed Lyman No. 1 tang peep sight, a Lyman No. 6W folding leaf rear sight, and standard front sight. (Records are not available for this vintage rifle so there is no factory letter.) It comes with its original box and hang tag (print version dated 4/11). The box shows lots of wear and is frayed and split on some corners, as the photo shows. This is truly a one of a kind find. I've never seen a perfectly new Model 1892 before, and don't know where I'd go to find another one at any price. We can take VISA or MasterCard for an additional 4% fee.
