Here is a distinctive well made .22 Short Single Shot from Anciens Establissements Piper, Herstal, Belgium, from the 1920s, a Bergman-Bayard Model of 1912. It has a unique pull-back cocking and loading system with a release lever on the left side of the receiver that seats the cartridge, then a lever safety on the left rear side of the receiver for safe and fire positions. Serial number is 41,000 range. Despite extensive weathering and scouring on the one-piece European Walnut stock, and despite extensive superficial pitting and discoloration to the barrel surface, we still classify this rifle as Very Good, since it has strong original finish that remains in perhaps as much as 60 percent strength. The rifle's attractiveness is intact, and the bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We're offering this very unusual, attractive and serviceable .22 Short Single Shot for only $ 189.95
