Savage Model 99 H 303 carbine serial # 391748. This H carbine is a barrel band configuration. The gun still has a fair amount of bluing that is light in places and overall beginning to turn brown patina. The bore is very good, very bright with excellent rifling, but there is a ring between an 1 3/4 to 2 " back from the muzzle. Ring does not effect the shooting of this gun, but is there. Gun has the original sites, both front and rear and the front stock rates very good with still some traces of original finish. The receiver still holds decent blue with most wear being at the bottom from carrying. There are a few light scratches on the side of the brass counter but minimal. Lever still holds excellent case coloring, but someone etched a 9 digit social #, it does have the lever safety. Rear buttstock rates very good with very minimal handling marks and it too still shows some original finish. It has a steel original buttplate marked SVG at the bottom. A really nice H carbine and the barrel band you don't see everyday and a great shooter to boot. Money order, certified check or personal check accepted with delayed shipping until check is cleared.
