This holster is designed so that some one cannot come up behind the officer and take his or her sidearm. The pistol draws only with a forward sweeping motion. Gould & Goodrich factory designation, visible in the photos, is FEZ594W LH. This is an excellent quality, U.S. Made, genuine smooth black leather, left-hand Security Duty unlined holster made specifically for Smith & Wesson 5900 and 4000 series pistols, including models 59, 459, 659, 5903, 5904, 5906, 5946, 4003, 4006, 910, 915, and 410. Note the open cutaway configuration that readily accommodates adjustable sight 5900 and 4000 series pistols. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint weakening to the dye on some of the edges. We classify it as Very Good condition, but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Production dates on the parent pistols were mostly 1980s and early 1990s, so these holsters are period correct for any Smith & Wesson or Sig manufactured between the early 1970s and late 1990s, since collectability is an element in any of our items. Since the 4000 and 5900 series pistols are discontinued, holsters like these are not easy to find, and when a person finds a new holster of this quality, prices often approach $100 apiece.
