L.C. Smith Field Grade .410- 99% CASE COLOR- EJECTORS!!!!
How often do you get to see a near new .410 Field Grade Elsie, especially with ejectors and full length stock to the original butt plate. This one was made in 1936, one of only 480 ever made with ejectors. The .410 bore in any Classic American Double is a low production gun and strongly sought by shooters and collectors alike. The .410 bores are great investments and of course CONDITION IS EVERYTHING. Field Grade guns are often well worn, so for investment and collecting, the most desirable will always be the high condition guns with some extra features not often found. This gun has near new condition, ejectors, and seldom seen 28” barrels.
The barrels retain 95% factory blue, with mirror bores choked LM/F (.012/.028), 3” factory chambers, strong well timed ejectors, no dents or dings, tight ribs with barrels that ring nicely, SHARP, CLEAR LETTERING DEEPLY STAMPED INTO THE BARRELS (L.C.s so often have light stampings, even on like new, factory original guns), and the barrels fit tight on breech face and hinge.
The featherweight action retains 99% bold, vivid factory case colors all the way to the hinge pin, perfect screws, double triggers that are crisp and clean breaking, action tight with lever far right of center, trigger guard shows almost no wear at all and retains 99% of its original niter blue finish, just a wonderful example of what a new Elsie should look like.
The wood is in excellent condition with just a few handling marks, clear factory checkering with no wear, excellent wood to metal fit, no splits, cracks or repairs, LOP 14 1/8” to the factory butt plate, drop at heel 2 ¼”, drop at comb 1 ¼” for nice shooting dimensions. The forend is excellent as well and shows little wear.
This is a great little gun to shoot and it comes up just right on the skeet fields or out after thin skinned game. Keep you shots to the short side and game drops just as dead as the 12 ga. There is nothing better to hone your shooting skills (once you have them!!!) than to shoot your favorite clays game with a .410 bore shotgun. This gun weighs 5lbs. 15oz. and balances right on the hinge pin. With the long barrels it is a racey looking gun that handles like the proverbial wand. I have many more photos of this gun upon request. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER FINE VINTAGE FIREARMS ON THIS WEBSITE. Just click on the line that says “see other items from this seller”.
