This is a Merkel o/u 16 gauge shot gun with an added set of 8x57R barrels w/scope. Overall a very attractive set. Both barrels fit the action tight, on face and correctly. The shot gun barrels are bright and shiny with only some very minor marks in the bores, A Bradley stye white bead has been addd. The shotgun chambers are 2 9/16". The rifle bores are also bright and shiny with only a very minor hint of some frosting, the front sight bead is a replacment. The scope is a big and impressive Ziess 'Zielacht' in classic claw mounts. the scope attaches and detaches properly and easily. Both barrel sets have the classic three piece forearms and all the wood matches. At some point in its history someone has added a doubled up plastic butt-plate, see photo. The action is silvering out a bit with some very minor freckeling, the butt-stock is in sound condition with normal minor handling marks from field use.
