If you're a serious gun ethusiast, dealer, or collector, please consider attending our in-store auction on Saturday, January 16, 2010, beginning at 9 a.m. We'll have over 400 lots, Browning guns, Case Knives, Colt firearms, H&R, Remington and Winchester ammunition in case lots, Rock Island guns, Ruger firearms, Sig-Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, World War I and II Military, Winchester, and many more. This will be an absolute auction, no by-bidding, held on our premises at 117 Front Street, Henderson, Tennessee. We're 90 miles East of Memphis, 75 miles North of Tupelo, very handy to I-40 & US 45. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Here is a very attractive classic Belgian Browning Light Twenlve Auto with 28 inch Vent Rib Barrel, Modified Choke, manufactured in 1967. This is a local one-owner shotgun that came from an estate in Henderson County, Tennessee. It has only seen moderate field use in the dove fields and rabbit thickets of the West Tennessee Hill area where we live. Surface detractions are only moderate. Both tang areas, upper and lower, of the receiver tail are mostly gun metal gray, and the rounded area forward of the trigger guard on the bottom edges of the receiver show faint graying as well. Faint to moderate amounts of case contact are visible on the sides of the muzzle area of the barrel. Rear Left side receiver screws show extensive whitening. Note, however, the strength of the original bluing throughout. Under side of barrel exhibits only moderate forend contact lightness. Receiver surfaces and the vast majority of the barrel surface are all strongly blued and very attractive. Original glossy finish is still very strong on the European Walnut buttstock and forend as well. We detect only one recoil crack, at the right rear side of the upper receiver tang, less than 1 inch long, and it shows no separation whatsoever. Finish is dulled down to oil finish on the forward sides of the pistol grip area, with light scouring at places on the buttstock that do not penetrate the glossy. Forend glossy is intact with fewer than a half dozen pecked places that have penetrated the finish to some extent. We rate this Belgium made Browning as Very Good, since 80 to 85 percent of its finish is intact by our estimate; photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Barrel is original length 28 inch, actually 27 1/2, with ** Modified Choke Constriction, 2 3/4 inch chamber, Ventilated Rib. We're offering this very nice Auto Five Light 12, the best known representative of all of John Moses Browning's inventions that still bear his name, for only $ 1089.95
IF THIS SHOTGUN DOES NOT SELL BY DECEMBER 31, IT WILL GO TO THE HIGH BIDDER IN OUR IN-STORE AUCTION ON JANUARY 16 REGARDLESS OF PRICE.
