Good example of a British SMLE dated 1918 made by BSA, with a SN 96829. Medal parts have applied wartime black finish, with typical wartime wear. Front sling has rust on it from retaining a leather sling for too many years. The walnut wood is good and solid with evidence that an old finish may have been scraped off at one time. A very rugged bolt action, with a 25" barrel and a good bore with sharp rifling, and fine pits down in the grooves , so common with military rifles from WWI that used corrosive ammo! Three photos listed. OUR DESCRIPTIONS ARE ACCURATE. THREE DAY INSPECTION ON ALL ITEMS PURCHASED.
