Darne FIS AINE Beautiful French sliding breach shotgun, 16 Gauge with 70 mm (2.75 inch) chambers. Looks to be closest to a “Classic Model Type E” but many of these were built to customer specifications. 1914 dated with 3 quality stamps on barrel flats. French grey finish with elaborate English rose and scroll. Heavily chiseled fences. Semi-pistol grip stock, factory butt plate. Checkered grip and fore end. Swamped rib with what looks to be a real ivory bead. Rib is finely checkered the entire length. 27.5” barrel and 14” length of pull. Double triggers and side safety. Bores are bright and clean. Appears to be in very good operating condition, barrels and action are tight, extraction is positive. A double gun expert smith cleaned and inspected it about 10 years ago, I have hunted with it only twice since then and it functioned flawlessly. Own a rarity in the USA.
