This Star PD pistol is chambered for the .45 acp cartridge. This lightweight pistol has an alloy frame with a steel slide. The sights are adjustable and there are both an internal drop safety as well as a thumb safety on the left rear of the frame. The slide is more narrow from the front of the ejector port to the muzzle, then widens from the front of the port to the rear of the slide. This allows for the lightest weight possible and makes holstering easier. It has a 99% blue finish. Grips appear to be a light colored hardwood, fully checkered panels. This pistol comes with 3 six round magazines. Made prior to 1968 this was copied by Colt as the Officers ACP model automatic and was popular with many Law Enforcement Officers as an off-duty weapon as well as many licensed civilian concealed gun carriers. The late gunwriter and Pennsylvania LEO, Robert Shimek carried this model as his perfered off-duty weapon prior to his untimely death. Small and reliable this is an execellent carry gun that has had little wear and has only been fired a fifty or so times with Remington +P 185gr. cartridges.
