The S&W Elite Gold 20 gauge side-by-side was designed and manufactured from the ground up to be the best small gauge boxlock on the market. The standard specs are: 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" x 14-1/2" with 1/4" cast-off for right-handed shooters. But that's only part of the story. These 6-1/2 pound guns with 28" barrels balance right on the hinge pin; perfect for pass shooting on ducks, doves, pheasant, chukar and Western quail.
I have both English straight grip and Prince of Wales pistol grip guns in stock -- all with single triggers!
THE SINGLE TRIGGER ADVANTAGE
When a bird is in the air, the last thing you want to have to do is take your focus off the target to futz around deciding which barrel to fire. Then changing your grip to find the other trigger if a second shot is required or you have the opportunity to go 2-for-2 on doves or quail. Now try finding that second trigger in cold weather with gloves on. LOL
The single trigger lets you focus on the target instead of the gun. You pull the same trigger twice and to get two shots. BANG! BANG! Rain or shine, gloves or not, instantly. So when you add the single trigger advantage to the 28" barrels you have the perfect design for a birdgun.
The icing on the cake is the manufacturing excellence of the S&W Elite Gold. Note the wood-to-metal fit around the receiver, tang and forearm latch. Hand-checkering and engraving. Genuine bone charcoal case hardening and Grade III Turkish walnut. Manual safety, auto ejectors, latch forearm, checkered butt, center bead sight plus S&W's Warranty, in writing. These guns have all the bells and whistles you'd expect on a $3,900 gun and I have them on sale at less than half that amount -- $1,795 + $75 S&H. And you can choose either the English straight grip or Prince of Wales pistol grip model. Both models have 28" barrels and single triggers.
