Description: This listing is for the exact shotgun in the photos. This is not a comfortable shooting weapon, even if someone is doing varmint control with Super Light 2 3/4 inch shells, but a powerful one. For a good balance between firepower and felt recoil, a 12 gauge 3 inch Magnum load with 1 1/4 oz. BB Steel Shot delivers 90 Pellets at 1400 feet per second from the muzzle and that figures the rough equivalent of 2 boxes of .17 Mach II bullets all in one shot. This is Mossberg's Most distinctive Cruiser Grip shotgun, the Rolling Thunder 12 gauge pistol grip variant of the tried-and-true Model 500 slide action. Manufacturer is O.F. Mossberg & Sons of New Haven, CT. Construction is steel barrel, magazine tube, bolt, trigger, and internal parts in an alloy receiver, with alloy muzzle brake attachment. Safety button, trigger group housing, forend, and pistol grip are black polymer, with factory tactical offhand retention strap on the corncob style serrated forend, and finger grooved combat type cruiser grip. Barrel is 18 1/2 inch cylinder bore, with Mossberg’s distinctive aluminum alloy Rolling Thunder muzzle stabilizer with 22 ports that helps eliminate muzzle flip, and carries a 12-slot 5 inch Picatinny rail on its underside. Its Brake is held in place by the barrel being threaded with a locking collar bearing four set screws for stability. It brings overall barrel length out to 23 inches. Heat shield is factory Mossberg perforated steel. Chambering is for 12 gauge shells, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch interchangeably. Magazine capacity is 5 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch shells or 4 + 1 on 3 inch shells. Finish is matte blue steel metal, with matching dull matte anodized finish on the receiver and brake assembly. Sight is hex base brass bead, and like all 500s, this Cruiser’s receiver is drilled to accommodate Weaver #88 or 417 series optics bases, or similar 4 screw rails on top. Overall length with the Rolling Thunder stabilizer is 32 1/2 inches, and about 27 inches overall with the stabilizer removed. Weight empty is 7 pounds 2 ounces, well balanced with center of gravity at the forend center, and up only a few ounces from normal cruiser weight. This specimen is what we call a factory demo. It served as showgirl for Mossberg’s sales force, on the road with their reps and writers; and at gun industry trade shows like the annual SHOT show in Las Vegas. Surface detractions are minimal, really no more streaking and faint edge whitening than what one sees on lots of new display guns in stores. We rate it as Excellent, 90 to 95 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Shoppers can possibly spot the letter U stamped on the left side of the receiver above the serial number. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. This 500 Special Purpose comes in a relabeled Mossberg Factory Box with factory lock, and instruction manual that contains Mossberg’s warranty statement. If this shotgun was test fired, it was fewer than 20 times. Replacement pricing on this mossberg com is $553.00. We’re offering the 50565 Rolling Thunder Cruiser in the photos, however, for only $ 329.00. Any ammunition or personnel showing in our photos are Not included. Buyers must be at least 21 Years of Age; the Cruiser grip gives this shotgun Other Weapon status on the 4473 form. Local pickup by a civilian non dealer has to be a Tennessee Resident. Dealers in one state cannot transfer over-the-counter to a resident of another state on cruiser grip shotguns.
