Offered for your consideration is this fine model 64 Deluxe carbine in 30 WCF. It is a 1952 manufacture. The 20 inch barrel has the integral carbine ramp front sight with hood, the rear sight dovetail is filled with a blank. The bore is excellent, rifling is bright and sharp with no wear or pitting. The barrel, magazine and forend cap retain 95% original blue with slight thinning/carry wear on top of the barrel just forward of the receiver. The receiver is mechanically excellent, feeds, chambers and ejects properly and smoothly. There is a Lyman 66 receiver sight mounted in place of the rear barrel sight, it appears to be intact and correct, the color and finish indicate this to be a period sight that was probably installed at the factory. Both the Lyman 56 and 66 receiver sights were offered as options by Winchester. The receiver retains a strong 85+% blue with carry wear to the forward areas top and bottom. The buttplate retains 75% blue with the usual thinning around the edges, no rust, pitting or dents. The buttstock is tight and solid, no cracks, chips, dents or extra holes. The factory Deluxe sling swivel base is present, The detachable deluxe swivels are included. The stock retains 65 to 75% original varnish however there are scattered areas of flaking. The checkering is sharp, consistent and clean, no dents or compressions. The forend is likewise tight and solid, retains 90+% original finish. I do not see any flaking on the forend, and the checkering is sharp and damage free. I believe I am being very conservative with an 80% condition rating for this 64.
