Purchased by me in 1994, this rifle was shot less than 100 times on the range, has won several meat shoot competitions, and killed two whitetail deer. It hasn't been used much since then. It's very clean with only a very small nick on the stock above where the front wedge inserts. The only customization is the beaded turkey beard tied to the trigger guard. It has modern rifle sites and shoots in a tight pattern with the right load and a good aim. I love this rifle and you will too. I will ship in the original box.
New from Lyman, you'd pay $700. Others on GA are selling for $525.
I am not a dealer so can accept only a USPS Money Order. No other form of payment is accepted.
About the rifle: Lyman says, "Originally designed and built by such famous makers as Hawken, Gemmer and Demick, Great Plains rifles were the best and most reliable designs and finest workmanship available. No other factory assembled rifle or kit offers the authentic style and design of Lyman's Great Plains Rifle. This classic muzzleloader offers such high quality features as a 32" barrel with 1 in 60" twist for patched ball and hunting loads, double set triggers, Hawken style percussion "snail" with clean out screw, separate ramrod entry thimble and nose cap, and reliable coil spring lock with correct lock plate."
