The strength of the Model 76™ action in the lightest, trimmest package available, the slender, Schnabel forend stock of the Alpine combined with the featherweight barrel contour is the lightest of the Dakota® Model 76 rifles.

The Dakota Model 76 Alpine features controlled round feeding and positive extraction; the extractor, underneath the locking lug and positioned at the end of the bolt, opens fully to insure that the next round feeds smoothly. The three-position safety allows the bolt to be operated with the safety on. The one-piece trigger guard and hinged floorplate are machined from solid bar stock.
