Rarely does one find a Model 1894 sporting rifle of this age in this fine, untouched, original condition. It is serial number 11xxx making this gun among the earliest receivers manufactured. While there is some confusion about production dates and serial numbers before 14750, according the letter from Cody Firearms Museum, this gun was received in the warehouse Dec. 17,1895 and shipped from the warehouse Aug. 11,1896.

This is a beauty. It has a 26" round barrel and full magazine. Overall condition is NRA Antique Fine. The barrels and magazine still retain original blue. The receiver, as shown, also bears much of the original blue and some case coloring on the hammer and some faint coloring on the lever. The screws are all excellent and appear to never have been touched. The wood is very nice with no cracks or repairs. There is a very small minor chip in the forend as seen in the pictures. The wood has never been sanded or refinished. The crescent butt plate is in excellent shape with great patina. The wood to metal fit is excellent and tight. The bores are clean and the action is smooth and tight. This is a wonderful example of a very early 1894.

Please feel free to ask any questions and I would be happy to email additional pictures if needed.
