Rare Ithaca 7E Knick Single Barrel Trap Shotgun

Outstanding early Ithaca 12 gauge Grade 7E Knick SBT 2 barrel shotgun set with great trap shooting provenance. According to the Ithaca factory records, Serial No. 400063 was shipped C/O John Boa on May 23, 1923. John S. Boa is featured as one of the Prominent Shooters Who Use Ithacas in every Ithaca catalog from 1919 – 1932. According to the catalogs, he was the Winner Professional Championship of all Canada for four years in succession. A World’s Record. Mr. Boa became enthusiastic over the Ithaca after experience had taught him he could win a Canadian championship with an Ithaca. Gun was subsequently owned by Earl W. Shaner and was part of his Ithaca SBT shotgun collection until it’s dispersement in 2007.

The gun is in fine condition with the standard 7E McGraw receiver engraving including gold ducks, pheasants, and American eagle. The trigger guard has the gold stag’s head. It is believed the gun was returned to Ithaca to add the second barrel, Raybar sight, convert from straight grip to pistol grip buttstock configuration and refinish the original 32” Full choke barrel. Second barrel which is 32” MOD choked and matte finished was manufactured by Simmons, numbered 400063 and stamped with the Ithaca Gun Company William Bean proof test symbol. The Monte Carlo style buttstock has a unique fancy checkering pattern and the wood quality and finish match the original forend. Polished metal grip cap features an engraved pattern with the name E. Shaner. Both the trigger and grip cap have traces of the original gold plating. Red rubber butt pad is a Presentation Model Pachmyer “White Line”.
