All of us wish that this were the original rifle. The 1903s, however, were selling for $15 to $25 apiece during the 1960s, and their receivers were very popular with custom riflesmiths. This piece comes to us from an Ohio retiree, and the work was done in the Northwest Part of the Buckeye State some time during the 1960s, attest the popular and attractive Bishop cut-checkered walnut stock. Note the purplish hue that the receiver took; that is vintage custom rifle typical from the period when the smiths used Nickel Steel receivers like this one, whose number is in the 3,800,000 range. Barrel is 22 inch medium contour steel, probably a Douglas barrel. Caliber is .308 Norma Magnum, a popular wildcat caliber of the period. This rifle comes, in fact, with 73 rounds of original Norma Factory Ammo. Specs are impressive, as is the condition of the rifle and the ammunition. The round develops over 3000 feet per second muzzle velocity, and over 3600 foot-pounds of muzzle energy. Scope is a genuine original Bushnell Classic, a 3x9 38mm Banner Lite-Site with operative illuminated crosshair, made in Japan. Optics and electronics are excellent and functional on the Bushnell. We estimate it was manufactured in the early 1980s, when Banners were still in production in Japan. We detect no scouring whatsoever to the lens coatings, and the owner carefully maintained all the firearms from his collection. Bluing on the rifle is Excellent, with only faint case contact whitening on the edges of the muzzle crown with a small amount of housing contact on the upper sides of the trigger, safely set at a very crisp 4 pounds. Stock has moderate amounts of contact scouring, mostly on the lower center section. It also has faint weathering evidence on the heel of the buttstock next to the buttplate spacer. Metal is Excellent, and the stock will grade a strong Very Good in our estimation. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. Ammunition is bright and dry, with only minimal spotting to the brass, as the photos show. We’re offering this entire package, including a later period Browning leather sling, for only $ 589.95. It will have to ship on two packages. $ 525.00 delivered freight paid for the rifle and its mounts alone, no ammo or scope. We will offer the Bushnell separately for only $ 119.95; ammo separately $150.00 freight paid to any destination in the lower 48 where ammo is not prohibited. 2% discount if payment is with USPS Money Order and not credit card.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
